Fields of interest

  • Development and improvement of analytical procedures for the determination of specific congeners of polychlorinated biphenyls and organochlorine pesticides and their degradation products in complex biological and environmental samples.
  • Studying the distribution of persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in various environmental samples: air, pine needles as bioindicators of air pollution, marine organisms from the Adriatic Sea (mussels, fish, dolphins, sea turtles, and tuna), wild land animals (deer, bears, wolves). Comparison with the current legislation and human health risk assessment.
  • Study of POPs distribution in breast milk and a health risk assessment for the breastfeeding infants.
